Job Description
Delaware North Sportservice is a prominent hospitality and food service company known for operating within iconic venues across the United States and globally. Among its diverse portfolio, Delaware North manages concessions, premium dining experiences, and numerous restaurants at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Truist Park, which opened in 2016, is a state-of-the-art ballpark with a seating capacity of 41,500 and serves as the home field for Major League Baseball's Atlanta Braves. With over 100 years of history as a family-owned business, Delaware North prides itself on creating memorable experiences for guests and providing exceptional career opportunities for its team members. The company culture emphasizes personal and professional growth, inclusivity, and a dedication to delivering excellent hospitality services. Delaware North supports a wide array of industries such as sports, gaming, retail, and national parks, allowing employees many paths to pursue their career ambitions in an environment that values teamwork and diversity.
The seasonal Pen Lounge Bar Supervisor position at Delaware North Sportservice offers a unique opportunity to be a part of the vibrant game-day atmosphere at Truist Park. The Pen Lounge is the newest premium club within the stadium and is strategically located above the bullpen directly in right field, offering an exclusive experience to guests. This role is pivotal to the smooth operation of the Pen Lounge by overseeing front-of-house activities and ensuring every event runs seamlessly. Reporting directly to the department manager, the Bar Supervisor is responsible for supervising and training staff members, managing inventory and beverage costs, and enforcing company policies related to alcohol service and health and safety regulations. The role requires leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced live event environment.
This seasonal position spans the baseball season from March to October, including any potential playoff games, making it ideal for candidates seeking employment that meshes with the Major League Baseball schedule. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, along with access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being. This package includes weekly pay, flexible work schedules, employee discounts, training and development opportunities, and, for eligible employees, health insurance, dental and vision plans, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, an employee assistance program, and professional certification reimbursement.
As a Pen Lounge Bar Supervisor, the successful candidate will be deeply involved in ensuring that all aspects of the guest experience meet Delaware North's high standards. This involves conducting event walk-throughs, monitoring food presentation, ensuring the responsible service of alcohol, and maintaining compliance with health and safety policies. The candidate should have a minimum of five years of bartender experience, a strong knowledge of food, wine, and spirits, and a grasp of cost control measures and profit and loss statements. The role demands the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a dynamic environment, along with the willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and event days.
Overall, this position offers an exciting chance to contribute to one of the premier hospitality teams in a major sports venue, while gaining valuable supervisory experience in the food and beverage industry within a globally recognized company.
