This role is for a Front of House (FOH) team member at Pei Wei, whose primary responsibility is to accommodate guest needs by greeting them in a timely, professional manner and providing thorough information about the menu and how to order "Pei Wei style." The FOH team member will be responsible for fulfilling guest orders whether they are dining in, taking away, or ordering remotely by phone or online. This position plays a critical role as the first point of contact with customers, ensuring an excellent first impression while facilitating smooth and efficient order processing through the POS system.
Essential duties include managing the setup, maintenance, and closing operations of the front of house in accordance with Pei Wei’s SOPs, processing orders accurately and promptly, handling cash and credit card transactions with precision, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the front of house area, including drink and condiment stations. The FOH team member must be comfortable working in various temperature conditions, particularly in warmer environments close to kitchen operations.
This role requires excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with customers, employees, and management, as well as strong basic math and computer skills to operate the POS system efficiently. The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, work cohesively within a team, and uphold integrity, honesty, and accountability in all dealings is essential. Former experience with cashier duties and POS systems is preferred, along with a high school education or equivalent.
Physically, the role demands considerable use of hands, arms, and legs, with the ability to stand and walk for long periods, reach and bend repeatedly, and transport objects up to 30 pounds throughout a shift. Accurate hearing and 20/20 vision with corrective measures are necessary for proper communication and safety.

Job Duties
- Responsible for the overall set-up, maintenance and closing duties for the front of the house in accordance to Pei Wei SOPs
- Process phone orders in a timely manner
- Takes and processes customer orders into POS system
- Processes and totals order on POS system and apply customer payment into register
- Processes credit cards, takes cash and makes correct change for customer payment
- Greet and welcome customers entering the restaurant
- Packages take home orders for customers
- Tabulate data regarding bills, total amounts, restaurant expenses in POS system
- Maintains and cleans front of house area including drink and condiment station
- Follows dress code
- Work around various levels of temperature, including warm to extremely warm temperatures in the kitchen
