Job Description
Pei Wei is a prominent restaurant chain specializing in Asian-inspired cuisine, known for delivering fresh and flavorful dishes in a fast-casual dining environment. With a strong commitment to quality and exceptional customer service, Pei Wei has established a loyal customer base and continues to expand its operations across various locations. The company's dedication to operational excellence and employee development ensures a vibrant workplace culture where team members can thrive and grow professionally. As a dynamic and growing business, Pei Wei places a significant emphasis on leadership roles that maintain high standards in both food quality and customer experience to uphold its brand reputation.
The Assistant Manager position at Pei Wei is a vital leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager. This role demands a proactive individual capable of managing and executing all dining room and kitchen operations in accordance with the established Pei Wei operational standards. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in ensuring a seamless dining experience by handling guest service issues professionally and maintaining composure under pressure. This position requires effective communication across all levels of staff and management, fostering a respectful and safe environment for employees while driving business results through strategic partnership with the General Manager.
In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager assumes full leadership responsibilities for the restaurant, which includes supervising food preparation, training staff on menu items, maintaining product quality through regular inspections, and managing operational paperwork such as prep lists and inventory orders. The role also involves overseeing safety and sanitation compliance, scheduling, financial forecasting including the management of food costs and labor, and supporting recruitment and development of managers and shift leaders. The Assistant Manager serves as a goodwill ambassador for Pei Wei within the community, ensuring that the restaurant performs efficiently and meets its business goals while providing an outstanding guest experience.
This position is ideal for experienced restaurant professionals who are committed to operational excellence and employee growth. Candidates will find a supportive work environment that challenges their decision-making, adaptive learning, and coaching skills. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods and handle various lifting tasks during shifts. As Pei Wei emphasizes professional development, the Assistant Manager position offers opportunities for growth within the company's management ranks, preparing candidates for future advancement. This role presents a competitive salary, reflecting the responsibility and leadership skills required to maintain the high standards and success of Pei Wei restaurants.
