Job Description

Montefiore Health System is a leading healthcare provider in the Bronx and Westchester counties of New York, renowned for its commitment to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care. It includes multiple hospitals and specialized facilities aimed at serving diverse communities with a focus on both medical excellence and community health. One of its crown jewels is the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM), a 192-bed state-of-the-art academic pediatric hospital. CHAM offers a wide range of services including inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency care tailored specifically for children and adolescents. The hospital is closely associated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, supporting a strong academic environment that fosters medical education, research, and clinical excellence. Beyond CHAM, the health system operates other vital institutions like the Jack D. Weiler Hospital and Montefiore Wakefield Campus, each equipped with high-capacity neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and a significant volume of infant deliveries annually.

The Division of Academic General Pediatrics at CHAM is actively expanding by recruiting four full-time academic general pediatricians. This exciting role is crafted to integrate clinical care, teaching, and research within a vibrant academic and community health setting. Pediatricians in this role will provide ambulatory care across diverse clinical settings, including primary care centers and newborn nurseries, ensuring comprehensive patient management from infancy through adolescence. There is a strong emphasis on education, as the role involves teaching and supervising pediatric residents, medical students, and physician assistant students. Faculty members are also expected to participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives that aim to elevate healthcare delivery standards continuously.

The division prides itself on a multidisciplinary approach, working with a team that includes nurses, nurse practitioners, social scientists, psychologists, social workers, and administrative support to provide holistic care. Clinical sites under this division include the Comprehensive Family Care Center and Family Care Center, both patient-centered medical homes with integrated mental health services. Complementary programs such as the Linking the Individual Needs of Children with Services (LINCS) Complex Care Program and the JE and ZB Butler Center for Children and Families, specializing in child abuse pediatrics, further enhance the division’s breadth. Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary ranging from $175,000 to $210,000 depending on academic rank, along with the opportunity to earn additional income through productivity incentives and bonuses. A rich benefits package supports employees’ well-being, including retirement plans with employer contributions, tuition reimbursement, disability coverage, life insurance, paid malpractice, and comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance. Continuing medical education funds are also provided to support ongoing professional development. This role offers a unique career opportunity for pediatricians passionate about advancing child health through clinical excellence, teaching, and research within an academic medical center dedicated to community impact.
