Job Description
The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is a prestigious, award-winning luxury hotel located in Orange County, California. Renowned for its Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond ratings, the resort offers an unparalleled hospitality experience set against the stunning backdrop of Dana Point's coastal beauty. With over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, and eight distinctive food and beverage outlets including four restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in-room dining options, the resort provides a comprehensive luxury experience for guests seeking relaxation, celebration, or business engagements. Situated on a 175-acre seaside bluff, Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort enjoys year-round sunshine, picturesque beaches, and proximity to some of the nation’s top attractions, making it a premier destination for both leisure and corporate travelers.
As the Payroll and Labor Analytics Manager at this luxury resort, you will play a critical role within the Finance Team. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who is passionate about hospitality and possesses the expertise to manage complex payroll operations with precision and compliance. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the hotel’s payroll processing in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring that all employee compensation details such as commissions, tips, service charges, and other pay components are accurately reviewed and submitted. You will be tasked with maintaining the integrity of payroll operations by auditing system reports, balancing input hours and dollars to the schedule, reviewing overtime reports, and ensuring that all payroll documents and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are up to date and effectively communicated.
In addition to payroll oversight, you will take a leadership role in labor reporting and analytics by producing detailed labor reports multiple times per week, analyzing staffing effectiveness against budget and forecast, and collaborating with department heads to refine labor standards and forecast impacts. You will also be responsible for conducting labor meetings, documenting operational notes, and addressing labor cost efficiencies within the resort.
Your role will extend beyond technical and analytical duties to include leadership and team development. You will mentor and train payroll team members, manage performance evaluations, provide growth opportunities, and foster a workplace environment that reflects Hilton’s core values of hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and urgency. As an ambassador of the hotel’s financial integrity and team culture, your work will directly impact the quality of the guest experience by enabling smooth payroll processes and effective labor cost management.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to live and work in one of California’s most vibrant coastal communities, featuring a lively arts and dining scene, pristine beaches, and endless recreational activities. The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club fosters a supportive work environment with strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, offering competitive benefits including travel perks, stock purchase programs, paid parental leave, health and welfare benefits, mental health resources, and generous paid time off. Join a globally recognized hospitality leader that values your contribution and invests in your future career growth while you help deliver unforgettable guest experiences.
