Job Duties
- Report to the manager of passenger services
- ensure no unauthorized persons enter or place prohibited or dangerous items onboard the aircraft
- ensure dangerous items are not placed near the aircraft
- ensure no unauthorized items are removed from or placed on the aircraft
- collect and catalog items left onboard as required
- screen individuals with approved handheld metal detectors or conduct pat downs as per airline standards
- check IDs of all persons entering the aircraft and ensure visitors are accompanied by an authorized escort
- report all suspicious activities to appropriate airport agencies, airlines, and Swissport management
- stand for long periods as required
- work in extreme warm or cold temperatures indoor or outdoor
- complete reports as required by the airline
- monitor and catalog bags loaded on the aircraft as required
- wear safety shoes and uniforms at all times
- never leave post until relieved by a supervisor
- be available for any shift or day
- perform other duties as assigned
- load and unload checked baggage at ticketing and check-in counters to appropriate conveyor belts
- bend, stand, kneel throughout the shift
- assist ticketing agents to verify correct luggage destination tags
