Berkeley Repertory Theatre, known affectionately as Berkeley Rep, is a distinguished nonprofit theatre company committed to innovative and groundbreaking theatrical productions. The theatre offers an eclectic and diverse theatrical experience through its annual season of seven main plays and several special event presentations, featuring a broad spectrum of artistic voices, themes, and perspectives that celebrate inclusivity and cultural diversity. Berkeley Rep is currently seeking dedicated Patron Experience Representatives to join its front of house team. This role serves as a vital bridge between the theatre and its patrons, ensuring that each visitor's experience is welcoming, inclusive, and memorable. The Patron Experience Representative acts as the first point of contact for guests, providing assistance with seating, concessions, special accommodations, and answering queries related to the theatre's events. Reporting directly to the Front of House Director, this seasonal part-time position offers a flexible work schedule of 20 to 30 hours per week, primarily during evenings and weekends, with occasional weekday shifts to support rentals and special events. Compensation for this role is $22.75 per hour. The role demands attentive customer service skills and the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, managing patron flow and collaborating closely with other departments such as production, box office, and marketing to enhance the overall visitor experience. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in theatre house management, hospitality services, catering, bartending, or special events management, coupled with a strong commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion within the arts community. Responsibilities include serving as concessionaire, usher, or device concierge, maintaining lost and found, supporting receptions, and upholding Berkeley Rep's protocols to guarantee a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • Two years of experience with bar/restaurant POS systems
  • English fluency is required
  • Ability to lift 20–30 lbs
