Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No previous experience required
- Ability to follow protocols for patient transport and safety
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting and moving patients
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy

Job Duties
- Transports patients and visitors between departments and ancillary areas
- Transfers bodies to the morgue following appropriate protocols
- Meets productivity measures and benchmarks set by the hospital
- Assists at main lobby greeting patients and assisting with transport between assignments
- Identifies correct patient for transportation by verifying name and date of birth
- Practices good body mechanics when transferring and lifting patients
- Obtains and transports paperwork or charts with patients
- Observes proper procedures during patient transport including monitoring equipment and reporting changes
- Keeps hallways clear by properly storing equipment
- Participates in emergency management drills and in-service trainings
- Adheres to precautionary methods using personal protective equipment
- Practices good hand-washing techniques and personal hygiene
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining privacy
- Responds promptly to requests and notifies appropriate personnel
- Adheres to University policies and safeguards assets
