Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Less than one year of applicable experience
- Ability to work rotating night shifts
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to assist in patient transport and move equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to follow infection prevention and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Less than one year of experience in a healthcare or patient transport role preferred
- Basic knowledge of infection prevention and patient transfer techniques
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate hospital transportation equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and hospital protocols
- Dependable and punctual with strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Utilize infection prevention techniques and patient transfer methods to ensure safe and efficient movement of patients
- Communicate effectively with nursing clinical staff to coordinate patient transfers
- Recognize when to ask for help or seek guidance during patient transport
- Maintain and protect the integrity of patient tubes, lines, and collection devices during transport
- Move patient valuables and medical equipment securely
- Use appropriate routes to transport patients within the hospital
- Follow hospital policies and procedures for patient safety and transportation
