Job Requirements

  • some college business or computer coursework preferred
  • current AHA or equivalent BLS certification required
  • two years of customer engagement experience required
  • knowledge of unique characteristics of Medi-Cal, Medicare, Managed Care, Indemnity and Workers Compensation insurance types
  • understanding of registration and admission process impact on claims and patient care
  • strong customer service skills
  • excellent oral and written communication
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
  • knowledge of organizational processes and NorthBay Health clinical computer systems

Job Qualifications

  • some college business or computer coursework preferred
  • coursework in medical terminology preferred
  • current AHA or equivalent BLS certification required
  • two years of customer engagement experience required
  • experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • excellent customer service skills
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • knowledge of insurance types and claims processing

Job Duties

  • perform general front office duties including reception, registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records management
  • exercise judgment within defined guidelines
  • function as part of a clerical and customer service team
  • ensure completeness and accuracy of registration and admission processes
  • differentiate unique characteristics of various insurance types such as Medi-Cal, Medicare, Managed Care, Indemnity, and Workers Compensation
  • manage multiple priorities effectively
  • demonstrate professionalism and customer service excellence
