Job Requirements

  • BA or BS degree preferred in institutional management, dietetics or equivalent
  • minimum three years progressive experience in healthcare foodservice management
  • Certified Dietary Manager certification and at least five years supervisory or management experience
  • ability to work effectively in diverse, collaborative, and team-oriented culture
  • capability to develop methodologies for data collection and analysis
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
  • strong organizational and planning skills
  • ability to delegate and follow up
  • ability to work independently
  • physical ability to work in well-lighted and ventilated areas
  • ability to adapt to food service conditions including noise, heat and humidity

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in institutional management or dietetics
  • minimum of three years progressive experience in healthcare foodservice management or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred with at least five years of supervisory or management experience
  • Registered Dietitian preferred
  • excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • ability to analyze data, audit program processes, and recommend improvements
  • proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • strong interpersonal skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • capacity to delegate responsibilities and provide follow-up
  • personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring

Job Duties

  • Directly supervise day-to-day operation of patient foodservice
  • standardize operating procedures for expense management and patient foodservice operations
  • implement core program systems including menus, audit tools, and competencies
  • support dietitians and foodservice staff with education and resources
  • ensure adherence to clinical care policies and nutrition plans
  • manage budgeting and financial controls, including preparing annual expense budgets and monthly reviews
  • develop, revise, and maintain educational materials for patients, families, and medical professionals
  • lead quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement plans
  • conduct staff meetings, training, appraisals, and manage disciplinary actions
  • ensure compliance with Trinity Health policies and procedures
  • manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • oversee food safety, infection control, and safety standards
  • foster partnerships with nursing leadership to support patient-centered care
  • monitor patient satisfaction and address service quality issues
  • supervise tray assembly and delivery ensuring food safety and presentation standards
  • ensure procurement compliance and quality of food and supplies
  • maintain accurate records of menus, meal counts, and delivery timing
