Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience
  • Completion of UAMS Patient Care Technician (PCT) and Patient Services Certification (PSC) courses
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Capacity to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States
  • Completion of conflict management training within six months of hire
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and mobility assistance
  • Willingness to work inside a medical facility with exposure to biological and chemical hazards
  • Adherence to pre-employment screening including background check and drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • High school, GED, or formal education equivalent
  • 1 year of work experience in the health care field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to accept and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate following Guest Care guidelines
  • Successful completion of the UAMS PCT and PSC courses

Job Duties

  • Assists patients and visitors with information and/or solutions to problems
  • Serves as a resource to support department member in performance of duties
  • Notifies appropriate staff of problems requiring prompt intervention
  • Obtains patient report and communicates with RN regarding patient care
  • Informs nurse of patient requests or complaints
  • Carries out Plan of Care for patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach delegated by Team Leader
  • Communicates effectively with other team members to facilitate patient care
  • Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed
  • Assists patients with direct patient care
  • Accepts direction from RN and team members and follows through on delegated patient care activities
  • Provides appropriate grooming/oral hygiene and comfort measures and assists patients with mobility-related activities
  • Accurately and promptly documents all patient care tasks, vital signs, ADL, wave tests, and I & O's per unit and department standards
  • Performs other duties as needed
