Job Requirements

  • Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high customer satisfaction
  • Ability to protect privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • One year of customer service experience preferred
  • Billing and collections experience preferred
  • Computer literacy in electronic medical records (EMR) and relevant software preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Multilingual skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging
  • Resolves patient needs by identifying and addressing concerns related to patient intake and care
  • Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations
  • Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming, entering, and updating demographic data in the registration system
  • Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms
  • Assists patients in completing necessary forms for billing and regulatory compliance
  • Scans paperwork and educates patients on financial assistance options
  • Proactively requests and processes payments for medical services
  • Stays current on role responsibilities and updates by reviewing communications and attending meetings to maintain high performance standards
