Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of relevant experience
  • ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
  • ability to understand and interpret medical and business information
  • ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of relevant experience
  • exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills
  • knowledge of basic medical terminology, coding, eligibility, and prior authorization
  • strong computer and multi-line phone skills
  • ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
  • ability to maintain professional and courteous manner
  • understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies such as HIPAA

Job Duties

  • Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules appointments for new and established patients
  • responds to appointment requests received via multiple applications including phone, text, website, and fax
  • coordinates notification of changes in appointments or data to appropriate staff
  • completes new patient registration process
  • ensures patients are scheduled in accordance with physician protocols and within proper specialty
  • updates and maintains patient demographics as needed
  • reschedules bumped and cancelled appointments as necessary
