Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- two years of relevant experience
- ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
- ability to understand and interpret medical and business information
- ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks efficiently
- strong communication skills
- ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- two years of relevant experience
- exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills
- knowledge of basic medical terminology, coding, eligibility, and prior authorization
- strong computer and multi-line phone skills
- ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
- ability to maintain professional and courteous manner
- understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies such as HIPAA
Job Duties
- Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules appointments for new and established patients
- responds to appointment requests received via multiple applications including phone, text, website, and fax
- coordinates notification of changes in appointments or data to appropriate staff
- completes new patient registration process
- ensures patients are scheduled in accordance with physician protocols and within proper specialty
- updates and maintains patient demographics as needed
- reschedules bumped and cancelled appointments as necessary
