Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Previous experience in data entry, preferably in a private physician setting such as OB/GYN or Family Practice
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to speak, read, and write
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of insurance industry practices and LWHA financial policies
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance
- Skilled in data entry
- Strong communication skills with proper English and grammar
- Customer service experience
Job Duties
- Translate from Spanish to English or English to Spanish for patients needing communication assistance
- Ensure all demographic information is accurately entered into the system promptly
- Complete all applicable demographic screens on each patient
- Update insurance information and ensure correct plans are used
- Set primary and secondary insurance coverage during updates
- Accept and post payments
- Print and supply paperwork for patients to present to their doctors
- Schedule appointments
- Post no-charge visits and route chargeable visits to the Business Office
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
