Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED)
  • Minimum of two years office administration experience preferably in a medical setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED)
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years office administration experience preferably in a medical setting
  • Prior medical coding experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good customer, interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to type 60 words per minute
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Coordinate with center leadership to maximize daily patient census
  • Actively participate in staff meetings to support key functions within the center
  • Greet patients and visitors, answer and route calls to appropriate staff
  • Maintain all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders
  • Obtain and verify patient insurance information including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations and enter data accurately into databases
  • Collect and enter patient charges into databases
  • Verify and reconcile charges as directed and prepare monthly patient survey data and necessary documentation for providers
  • Assemble new patient charts, maintain and file existing charts, and perform spot checks for data completeness and signatures
  • Coordinate and schedule ancillary testing with hospital departments
  • Arrange patient transportation as needed
  • Maintain office and medical supplies and equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
