Job Description
Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating over 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across more than 600 sites. The company operates within a dynamic outpatient healthcare environment, focusing on improving patient outcomes by addressing complex wound care needs in an aging population increasingly affected by conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and complications following surgical procedures. Healogics partners with outpatient clinics to expand access to specialized wound care services and is committed to providing high-quality care that supports patient healing and recovery. This commitment is reflected in their comprehensive, patient-centered approach and their dedication to evidence-based medical practices that meet accreditation, federal, and state regulations, including those set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The role of Patient Navigator at Healogics is vital to the seamless operation of the wound care center. This position is primarily focused on managing front-office functions that are crucial for maintaining a smooth workflow and fostering an efficient care environment for both patients and staff. The Patient Navigator acts as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams, ensuring that all communication and scheduling needs are addressed promptly and professionally. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced medical setting. Responsibilities include scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments, coordinating with hospital departments for ancillary services, handling insurance verifications including pre-certifications and authorizations, and supporting patient transportation arrangements when necessary.
Employees in this position must adhere strictly to Healogics' policies and procedures, as well as hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and accreditation standards to maintain compliance and ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The Patient Navigator plays an essential part in enhancing patient experience by greeting and assisting visitors, managing crucial data entry tasks such as entering patient charges and insurance information into databases, reconciling charges, and participating in staff meetings to support center operations. This job is well-suited for individuals with at least two years of office administrative experience in healthcare or similar settings and who preferably have some knowledge of medical coding. The position demands excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Healogics values its employees greatly and offers competitive compensation, with the hourly pay for this role ranging between $15.94 and $19.59, depending on qualifications, experience, and other considerations. The environment is a patient care setting where physical demands include extended periods of sitting, computer use, and other routine office activities. This role provides a meaningful opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference in patients' lives by supporting an important healthcare service within a growing specialized medical field.
