Job Requirements

  • One year experience in a clinical office setting, health information management, or document scanning department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and digital imaging software

Job Duties

  • Work department incoming referral work queue daily
  • Assist patients with appointments in other specialist offices as requested/referred by physicians
  • Build relationships with physicians, OR staff, and insurance representatives to facilitate scheduling duties
  • Communicate with referring physician's office and clinical departments to exchange necessary information and coordinate surgical, procedural, diagnostic testing, and DME
  • Assist in completing surgical orders and route as appropriate
  • Meet with surgical/procedural patients or caregivers to provide information, explanations, pre-procedure instructions, and answer questions
  • Schedule patient/family surgical conferences
  • Perform general clerical duties including assisting front/back desk and scheduling appointments
  • Assist with signing up patients/proxies for MyChart activations and Telehealth visits
  • Manage physician calendars
  • Review patient charts to ensure imaging and pertinent information are available to maximize appointment efficiency
  • Round with patients in practice to ensure excellent patient experience
  • Follow-up on reported issues and assist with service recovery
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary
  • Determine and accept required payments including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow-up
