Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • word processing or computer scheduling experience
  • knowledge of typical office work environment
  • previous customer service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet patients upon arrival
  • verify patient information and confirm insurance and referral status
  • obtain and retain knowledge of insurance company participation and requirements
  • register patients accurately in computer system
  • answer general patient questions following guidelines
  • print route slips and schedule appointments per recalls
  • maintain schedule awareness and problem solve
  • collect payments and balance receipts
  • answer questions regarding insurance billing and office financial policies
  • generate and dispense Patient Portal tokens
  • enter recalls for future appointments
  • assist patients with transportation and other needs
  • direct patients to appropriate locations
  • maintain high level of customer service
  • assist in maintaining work and reception area
  • handle phone calls with proper etiquette
  • take initiative in completing tasks
  • ensure confidentiality of medical records
  • perform other assigned duties
