Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work cooperatively with a diverse team

Job Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Professional and cooperative attitude with patients, families, and staff

Job Duties

  • Collects and records patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, nutritional intake, and output
  • Performs blood glucose monitoring and routine urinary catheter care
  • Assists patients with hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility
  • Answers patient call lights and requests promptly
  • Maintains unit and patient records, including admissions, surgeries, transfers, and discharges
  • Prepares reports, purchase orders, and correspondence using computer programs
  • Greets visitors, answers telephones, and communicates with nursing staff and medical personnel
  • Runs errands, picks up supplies, transports patients, and maintains inventory and work area supplies
  • Cleans patient bedside units and nursing areas, and attends in-services and unit meetings
