Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Less than 1 year of experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Professional demeanor and ability to work cooperatively with a diverse team

- Professional and cooperative attitude with patients, families, and staff
Job Duties
- Collects and records patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, nutritional intake, and output
- Performs blood glucose monitoring and routine urinary catheter care
- Assists patients with hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Answers patient call lights and requests promptly
- Maintains unit and patient records, including admissions, surgeries, transfers, and discharges
- Prepares reports, purchase orders, and correspondence using computer programs
- Greets visitors, answers telephones, and communicates with nursing staff and medical personnel
- Runs errands, picks up supplies, transports patients, and maintains inventory and work area supplies
- Cleans patient bedside units and nursing areas, and attends in-services and unit meetings
