Job Description
Synergy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, located in Jacksonville, NC, is a well-established, locally owned outpatient physical therapy clinic dedicated to providing high quality healthcare services in a compassionate and professional environment. The clinic specializes in physical therapy and rehabilitation services aimed at improving patients' mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing their overall quality of life. With a strong commitment to patient care and community wellness, Synergy Physical Therapy has built a reputation for excellence and personalized service that meets the unique needs of each individual who walks through its doors.
We are currently seeking to hire a Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary in the range of $11.00 to $15.00 per hour, with additional benefits including health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan. The position requires a highly motivated, task-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.
As a Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Receptionist at Synergy Physical Therapy, you will perform a variety of essential front-office duties that directly impact patient satisfaction and the smooth operation of the clinic. Your role will involve greeting patients warmly and accurately entering their information into our EMR system, managing phone communications, scheduling appointments throughout the patient's treatment plan, collecting copays and deductibles, and verifying insurance coverage. A successful candidate must be solution-oriented, reliable, capable of multi-tasking, and able to maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor, even in challenging situations.
This position demands prior verifiable experience as a medical receptionist or related front office role in a healthcare setting. A bachelor’s degree and experience working in a fast-paced office environment are preferred. Ideal candidates are those who enjoy teamwork, can handle patient inquiries with confidence, excel in managing detailed administrative tasks, and are passionate about contributing to patient recovery and care.
The Patient Care Coordinator will also assist with insurance coordination, including efficient verification of patient insurance benefits via phone and online portals, and clearly explaining coverage details to patients, managing payment plans, and addressing concerns related to out-of-pocket costs. Additionally, the role involves supporting patient care duties such as preparing patients for appointments, taking vitals, assisting with room setup, and ensuring appointments are scheduled appropriately.
This role is strictly front-office and patient-facing; it does not involve medical billing, back-office responsibilities, clinical duties, or management tasks. Candidates must be willing to work full-time hours from Monday through Friday during our clinic’s operational times, which span from early morning until early evening. Dependability and a commitment to maintaining solid attendance is a must, as is a willingness to undergo an intensive training period during the first 90 days to ensure mastery of the position’s responsibilities.
Synergy Physical Therapy fosters a positive work culture focused on teamwork, integrity, and professional growth. We encourage candidates who are highly reliable, welcoming, and solution-focused to apply. We emphasize the importance of a healthy and cooperative workplace free from gossip and drama. If you are a proactive individual who wants to help patients experience the highest quality care, and you are interested in long-term employment with our clinic, then this role will offer both personal and professional development in a supportive healthcare environment.
