Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or higher
- minimum 1 year experience in medical office with duties including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, co-pay collection, medical records maintenance
- intermediate proficiency in computer applications like MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- ability to use multiple web applications
- ability to travel up to 10% and reliable transportation
- adherence to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or higher
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office position performing scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and medical records maintenance
- intermediate computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and multiple web applications
- ability to travel 10% to cover other offices
- reliable transportation
- knowledge of Epic EMR software preferred
- bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- ability to work independently and maintain accountability
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to multi-task and prioritize
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information such as name, address, insurance information
- perform insurance verification on the date of service
- obtain patient signatures for required documents
- upload a valid government-issued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards
- complete occupational medicine registration workflow accurately
- file and maintain medical records
- consistently correct registration work queue errors
- confirm and schedule appointments
- answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
- perform referral documentation promptly
- work daily in the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors for insurance submission
- perform follow-up services such as scheduling specialist and follow-up appointments, obtaining lab results or specialist reports
- adhere to Optum employee policies via Sparq
- work cohesively with team members to achieve goals
- maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- participate in planning and implementing care with multidisciplinary team
- assure continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
- provide effective communication to patients, family, team members, and healthcare professionals
- notify clinical staff of schedule changes
- comply with administrative policies to ensure quality care
- demonstrate precision and efficiency in document scanning, fax monitoring, and chart assignments
- participate in orientation for new employees
- perform other related duties as assigned
- organize and maintain medical records
