Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is a leading full-service, acute-care hospital located in the vibrant Texas region. Established in June 2017, this 725,000-square-foot facility has rapidly grown to become a cornerstone in healthcare, offering a comprehensive range of medical services. Situated at the strategic intersection of Interstate 45 and Texas State Highway 242, the hospital campus boasts two state-of-the-art medical office buildings. These buildings house specialized centers including a Breast Care Center, Cancer Center, infusion center, heart and vascular services, neurology, orthopedics and sports medicine, rehabilitation services, wellness services, an outpatient laboratory, and a broad array of multispecialty physician practices. A significant milestone was achieved in January 2022 with the opening of the Healing Tower, a $250 million expansion that added 106 beds concentrating on medical-surgical and women's services, alongside nine additional operating rooms. This expansion also enhanced the endoscopy center, emergency department, and diagnostic imaging department, incorporating advanced neurodiagnostic and interventional capabilities. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is recognized for extensive patient-centered care and upholding stringent quality and safety standards. The hospital fosters a supportive and collaborative workforce environment, dedicated to professional growth and patient satisfaction. As an equal opportunity employer, Houston Methodist emphasizes inclusivity and diversity in its hiring practices.
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) role at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital presents a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking flexible, rewarding employment in healthcare. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions with varied shifts, including 12-hour day and night rotations. Applicants are considered for current and future vacancies matching their qualifications and schedule preferences. The PCA position is designed for individuals beginning their careers in patient care, functioning from novice to competent levels. PCAs are expected to demonstrate proficiency in basic care skills, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and uphold Houston Methodist's ICARE values centered on patient and family-focused care. The role involves conducting hourly patient rounding to ensure needs are met promptly, documenting care activities and patient observations accurately, and reporting any changes or concerns to licensed nursing staff. The position emphasizes teamwork, proactive communication, adherence to safety protocols, and continuous learning for career advancement. Overall, this is an ideal role for candidates who are passionate about healthcare, seek a dynamic work setting, and desire opportunities to grow within a renowned hospital system.
