Job Requirements

  • High school graduate required
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Experience in patient registration preferred
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients and staff
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability for part-time work with flexible hours
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Patient registration experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and rotate through different patient access areas
  • Proficient in basic computer applications

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge patients, patients' families, or visitors in a courteous and pleasant manner and process necessary information promptly
  • Escort or direct patients to appropriate areas when necessary
  • Utilize professional verbal communication skills when interacting with patients and internal or external customers both in person and on telephone
  • Promote efficiency and accurate processing of departmental information by collaborating with department director, patient access team members and Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center personnel
  • Verify insurance benefits, check authorization and obtain pre-certifications
  • Obtain patient signatures on required forms and collect patient financial responsibility when needed
  • Communicate revenue cycle related issues to patients and hospital staff
