Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of 3 years experience in medical office
- knowledge of insurance benefits, authorization process and contracting
- ability to work independently
- strong organizational skills
- effective communication skills
- knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT coding is a plus
- familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid and private-payer practices and regulations

Job Duties
- Reception of patients including patient arrivals, collecting co-pay and deductibles at time of service and verifying authorization if applicable
- managing incoming calls to the center
- scheduling appointments including follow-ups, diagnostics, treatments and patient access
- coordinating scheduling with outside physicians ensuring valid authorization is obtained
- pre-registration and registration of patients including verification of demographics and insurance
- collecting payments and completing compliance forms
- communicating with clinical staff to ensure no missed authorizations
- working as a patient financial counselor advising patients of available programs and directing them to appropriate assistance
- performing other duties as assigned by patient access manager
