Job Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caregivers
  • Capability to perform clerical and registration tasks accurately
  • Skill in handling insurance verification and payment processing
  • Physical ability to escort and transport patients
  • Critical thinking and judgment skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a healthcare or patient registration environment preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Job Duties

  • Meets with patient and or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
  • Provides explanation of visit, instructions, and addresses concerns and questions
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification or authorization as necessary
  • Escorts and transports patients and visitors within facility, including assistance with wheelchairs or oxygen tanks
  • Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
  • Ensures timely and accurate entry of all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system
  • Works with critical thinking, decisive judgment, and minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
