Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience required
  • Experience in a receptionist position or with medical front office procedures preferred
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid driver's license and maintain driving record within company standards
  • Be at minimum a good fit for the job as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • Ability to work with handicapped individuals
  • Understanding of Alpha filing system
  • Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
  • Ability to use office equipment such as facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers
  • Act with integrity, honesty, transparency, and respect in all relationships
  • Focus on superior outcomes and outstanding results
  • Ability to foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through the coordination and administration of front office activities
  • Accurately obtain all patient information and insurance information ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and policies
  • Maintain excellent customer service relationships with patients and referral sources
  • Ensure the privacy and security of protected health information per HIPAA rules
  • Assist with patient follow-up as directed
  • Enter patient demographics and insurance verifications as appropriate
  • Efficiently manage multiple phone lines
  • Record clear, concise, and accurate written documentation
  • File all patient charts and other documentation following established guidelines
  • Coordinate scheduling of practitioner schedules to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments and out-of-office calls
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
