Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience
- experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred
- eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
- be a good fit for the job based on Talent Sorter assessment
- strong communication skills
- ability to type 30 words per minute with accuracy
- ability to use computer and office equipment
Job Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
- ability to work with handicapped individuals
- understanding of Alpha filing system
- knowledge of medical reimbursement and terminology preferred
- familiarity with front office receptionist duties preferred
- proficiency in computer use including Windows-based software and email
- ability to use office equipment including facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers
- act with integrity in all interactions
- commitment to patient-centered care and building trust
- ability to foster collaboration and innovation
- focus on delivering superior outcomes
Job Duties
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival
- verify and update patient demographics and insurance details
- handle walk-in registrations
- collect patient payments including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
- coordinate follow-up appointments including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
- serve as a liaison for clinic services providing information on patient programs and support groups
- collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management team to obtain necessary patient information
- maintain accurate and complete electronic health records
