Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience
  • experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred
  • eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
  • be a good fit for the job based on Talent Sorter assessment
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to type 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • ability to use computer and office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • ability to work with handicapped individuals
  • understanding of Alpha filing system
  • knowledge of medical reimbursement and terminology preferred
  • familiarity with front office receptionist duties preferred
  • proficiency in computer use including Windows-based software and email
  • ability to use office equipment including facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers
  • act with integrity in all interactions
  • commitment to patient-centered care and building trust
  • ability to foster collaboration and innovation
  • focus on delivering superior outcomes

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival
  • verify and update patient demographics and insurance details
  • handle walk-in registrations
  • collect patient payments including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
  • coordinate follow-up appointments including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
  • serve as a liaison for clinic services providing information on patient programs and support groups
  • collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management team to obtain necessary patient information
  • maintain accurate and complete electronic health records
