Job Requirements

  • Basic understanding of pastry and baking operations within a hotel setting
  • Skills in department training and leadership
  • Knowledge of cost control methods
  • Competence in basic computer skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to produce consistent, quality products in a timely manner
  • Capable of assuming department responsibilities in the absence of Sous Chef

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary education or equivalent experience in pastry arts
  • Previous experience in a luxury resort environment preferred
  • Professional personal presentation and demeanor
  • Outstanding guest service skills with sophisticated verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily pastry and baking operations to ensure quality and consistency
  • Train and mentor pastry staff to maintain high performance standards
  • Manage production schedules and ingredient inventory to control costs
  • Step in to lead the pastry department in the absence of the Sous Chef
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to coordinate timely pastry delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the pastry kitchen
  • Assist with recipe development and menu planning to enhance guest offerings
