Job Requirements

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • At least 2 years of experience in pastry preparation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Food handling certificate required
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and presentation guidelines, according to departmental standards
  • Assist with managing a team of pastry cooks in completion of tasks
  • Assist in the creation and execution of menu items for Tea, Chef's Choice, and private events
  • Assist with inventory management and regular upkeep/proper storage of goods
  • Act as back in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef
  • Participate in Navigators' on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate
  • Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system
