Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred
- Minimum of 4 years experience managing high-volume pastry/bakery kitchen
- Proven leadership supervising teams of 10 or more
- Strong knowledge of baking procedures and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays
- Knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, FDA regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, or related field is a plus
- Minimum of 4 years managing a high-volume pastry/bakery kitchen with leadership experience of 10+ team members
- Expertise in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Strong knowledge of baking procedures, ingredients, precise measurements, mixing methods, kitchen equipment, and baking times
- Familiarity with trends in the catering industry
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated with ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Ability to reduce waste while meeting production deadlines
- Hands-on approach with strong sense of urgency
- Flexible availability for various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Thorough knowledge of HACCP, OSHA, FDA regulations and food safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Manage pastry production schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, on time, and align with quality standards
- Sustain optimal food costs by implementing strategic procurement practices and waste reduction initiatives
- Identify and implement new innovative baking techniques across preparation, tempering, baking, and decorating
- Drive menu innovation by contributing to new pastry offerings based on seasonal ingredients, market trends, and customer preferences
- Lead and mentor the pastry department, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment
- Oversee training and development of team members to ensure consistent performance and alignment with department goals
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with HACCP, OSHA, and FDA guidelines
