Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to obtain CA Food Handlers Certification
- Must be willing to work hours that vary according to event schedule
- Ability to remain on feet for entire length of shift
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of baking and pastry
- Experience working in a high-volume preparation environment preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment
- Strong commitment to delivering high level of customer and client service
- Customer service oriented with ability to interact with all levels of management
- Willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a team environment
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to make generalizations, evaluations, and decisions without immediate supervision
Job Duties
- Report for scheduled events on time in proper uniform with neat and clean personal appearance
- Bake cookies, cakes, sponge, and prepare mousse, custards, meringue, and cooked fruit products
- Follow procedures and directions of the Pastry Chef and management
- Assist in baking breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries
- Plate desserts to order and perform breakfast, lunch, or dinner pastry station service
- Check for color coordination and eye appeal of food items using appropriate garnishes
- Follow proper serving methods including serving correct portion sizes
- Assist with the breakdown and cleaning of various stations
