The current opening is for a Pastry Prep Cook, a crucial role that supports culinary activities under the guidance of the Executive Culinary Team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of basic baking and cooking tasks such as baking cookies, cakes, and sponge cakes, making mousse, custards, and meringue, as well as preparing cooked fruit products. The Pastry Prep Cook plays a key part in pastry production by assisting with baking breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries. They also handle dessert plating for various meal services and ensure all food items are visually appealing with proper garnishing.

This role demands a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. The Pastry Prep Cook must be customer service oriented, able to interact positively with management, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field. Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays is essential given the nature of event schedules. The position is located onsite at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA, and offers a part-time seasonal schedule with an hourly wage of $25.25.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to obtain CA Food Handlers Certification
  • Must be willing to work hours that vary according to event schedule
  • Ability to remain on feet for entire length of shift
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Basic knowledge of baking and pastry

Job Duties

  • Report for scheduled events on time in proper uniform with neat and clean personal appearance
  • Bake cookies, cakes, sponge, and prepare mousse, custards, meringue, and cooked fruit products
  • Follow procedures and directions of the Pastry Chef and management
  • Assist in baking breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries
  • Plate desserts to order and perform breakfast, lunch, or dinner pastry station service
  • Check for color coordination and eye appeal of food items using appropriate garnishes
  • Follow proper serving methods including serving correct portion sizes
  • Assist with the breakdown and cleaning of various stations
