The Pastry Lead position at SFK is a full-time role, compensated between $20.00 and $23.00 per hour. This position is ideal for highly motivated team players with prior leadership and baking experience who want to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Pastry Lead will be directly involved in supervising and motivating the pastry team through all stages of preparation, production, and baking of pastry items. Ensuring safety and sanitation compliance in all work areas is a crucial part of the role.
This leadership role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities, including order writing, inventory management, and verification processes. The Pastry Lead must be physically capable of enduring demanding conditions such as standing for long periods, lifting weights between 30 and 50 pounds, and working in environments ranging from cold refrigeration to hot ovens. As a leader, this person must also be adaptable with a flexible availability, especially for the PM shift from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with split days off.

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous baking experience
- Prior experience leading a team preferred
- Must have Tuberculosis Clearance or willing to take test upon offer
- Must comply with all company policies and requirements
- Applicant should be able to reliably commute to work on time

Job Duties
- Motivating and supervising our team in preparation, production and baking of pastry items
- Oversee the team by helping to keep team members on track with their daily work and assist when needed
- Creation of prep sheets, schedules, inventory, and verification processes
- Safely handle physical tasks, including lifting 30-50 lbs. and maintaining stamina throughout the shift while working in warm or refrigerated environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
- Ability to use a computer to create and process prep sheets, complete recaps, and send emails
- Uphold strict adherence to safety and sanitation protocols
