Job Requirements

  • minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods
  • manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • ability to lift, push, pull, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in environments exposed to heat, cold, chemicals, and noise
  • ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 1 year experience as a pastry cook
  • ability to illustrate consultative skills and work cross-functionally
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and develop recommended solutions
  • prior pastry experience preferred

Job Duties

  • follow all prep lists created by Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef
  • measure all ingredients properly and strictly follow all recipes
  • handle all food items and follow DOH guidelines for potentially hazard food items
  • properly set up dessert station maintaining all par levels
  • keep station and all knives, cutting boards, and workstations sanitized
  • rotate all prep stock and properly label and date all products, ensuring FIFO and company standards are met
  • organize and clean walk-ins
  • possess in depth knowledge of all pastry products
  • handle all dietary restrictions
  • accurately handle all orders from the POS system in a timely manner
  • communicate all product needs to chef team
  • report damaged or defective equipment to management
  • complete all required Jolt checklists
  • properly label and date all products
  • complete any needed logs and checklists
  • work with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards
  • maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
