Job Description
The hiring establishment is a distinguished hospitality venue renowned for offering exceptional culinary experiences, including a variety of specialty food outlets. This establishment takes pride in providing guests with innovative, high-quality pastries and desserts, crafted by a skilled culinary team that emphasizes creativity, precision, and exemplary service. Situated within a bustling environment that combines elements of a casino and culinary arts, the company fosters a fast-paced yet supportive atmosphere aimed at delivering superior guest satisfaction.
The position available is for a Pastry Cook II, a critical role in the production and design of diverse pastry cakes and desserts. This role involves hands-on preparation of cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, and assorted sweets, conforming closely to detailed recipes and quality standards. The Pastry Cook II operates under the guidance of the Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef, contributing to the consistent quality and presentation of desserts. This individual is responsible for managing inventory control, ensuring proper labeling and storage, and maintaining compliance with stringent health and safety regulations. It is essential for the candidate to demonstrate creativity in baked goods, especially with European pastry techniques and current trends, ensuring the products not only taste exquisite but also visually appeal to guests.
The role demands expertise in high-volume kitchen settings, ideally within hotels or resorts, and a proven ability to work effectively in environments where multiple tasks converge simultaneously. The Pastry Cook II must collaborate closely with front-of-house staff to enhance the overall guest experience and uphold the establishment’s reputation for excellence. Additional duties include promoting positive relations among public and employees and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. This position requires physical stamina to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various manual tasks essential to bakery operations.
Employment typically occurs in a kitchen or back-of-house area exposed to environmental factors inherent in casino operations, such as noise and second-hand smoke. Those applying should be prepared for these conditions and embrace the dynamic nature of culinary work in a casino-hospitality setting. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a prestigious team committed to culinary artistry and guest delight, with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and cultural heritage. Native American candidates meeting job requirements are given employment preference, reflecting the company's value of diversity and cultural inclusion.
