This full-time, non-management role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food preparation who are seeking to build a meaningful career in hospitality. As a culinary team member at JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards, ensuring all food served meets Marriott’s high culinary standards. Responsibilities include prepping ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food properly before use, as well as safely handling baking and measuring equipment to prepare baked goods.
Key duties also emphasize strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including personal hygiene and proper food handling procedures. The individual will regularly check kitchen equipment and food temperatures, immediately reporting any operational or safety concerns to management. Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment through diligent washing, disinfecting, and proper workstation set-up and breakdown is paramount. Throughout the shift, monitoring food quality and portion control ensures that guest expectations and Marriott’s quality standards are consistently met.
This position requires physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to perform activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 25 pounds. Flexibility and safety awareness are essential due to varying work surfaces and the need for proper bending, stooping, and twisting movements.
