This position is full-time and non-management, providing a dedicated individual an opportunity to join the food and beverage team at JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa. The role centers on food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all meals are made according to established recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food items adequately before cooking. Utilizing kitchen tools, equipment, and appliances safely and properly is essential, especially for baking and measuring tasks.

The employee will maintain strict adherence to food safety policies and procedures, including personal hygiene practices, and monitor appliance and food temperatures to secure food quality and safety. Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area regularly, organizing workstations, and following hygiene and cleaning protocols are vital aspects of the role. Continuous monitoring of food quality and portion control throughout the workday is expected. The job also involves observing company policies covering safety, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions, and completing all required safety training and certifications.

Beyond cooking responsibilities, the role demands maintaining a polished and professional appearance, respecting confidentiality, protecting company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally with team members and via telephone. This position values teamwork highly and supports collaborative efforts to meet common objectives and quality standards. Physically, the role requires the ability to move, lift, transport, push, pull, and position items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance and to navigate various work surfaces. The employee should be capable of stretching, bending, twisting, crouching, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
