Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Able to work on uneven, slippery, or sloped surfaces
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, and stooping
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments such as kitchens and walk-ins
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment

  • Basic knowledge of pastry fundamentals, baking techniques, and ingredient handling

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, breads, and specialty items following established recipes and quality standards
  • Accurately measure, portion, and prepare ingredients needed for daily production
  • Set up and break down assigned pastry station, ensuring proper organization, labeling, and cleanliness
  • Monitor food quality, taste, texture, and consistency throughout the shift
  • Follow food preparation checklists to ensure readiness for service and banquet production
  • Follow all food safety and personal hygiene procedures in accordance with health regulations and hotel standards
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO)
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain pastry work areas, tools, mixers, and equipment throughout the shift
  • Check the temperature and functionality of pastry equipment and appliances
  • report concerns to management
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leaders
  • Assist with special events, banquet functions, VIP amenities, and seasonal offerings as directed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
