The hotel is currently seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join its renowned culinary team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all pastries, breads, rolls, and desserts served across the hotel's food and beverage outlets meet the highest standards of quality, creativity, and consistency. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of pastry cooking or baking experience in a production kitchen, commissary, or bakery, with a proficiency in proofing and baking items such as croissants and muffins. Experience in following standardized recipes and preparing desserts from scratch, including tiramisu, panna cotta, and bread pudding, is essential. Prior hotel pastry production experience is a plus, along with a working knowledge of bakery production equipment like ovens, mixers, proofers, scales, and hand blenders. This position requires open availability for varied early morning shifts from as early as 4:00 a.m., including weekends and holidays, highlighting the need for flexibility and dedication. The Pastry Cook is expected to perform independently as well as contribute effectively within a team environment. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a pastry cook or baker
  • Experience with baking pastries and desserts
  • Proficient in following standardized recipes
  • Knowledge of bakery production equipment
  • Open availability including early mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a pastry cook or baker in a production kitchen, commissary or bakery
  • Experience in proofing and baking croissants, muffins, etc
  • Proficiency in following standardized recipes and producing desserts from scratch including tiramisu, panna cotta, bread pudding, etc
  • Previous hotel pastry production experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of bakery production equipment including ovens, mixers, proofers, scales, hand blenders
  • Open availability and ability to work morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Job Duties

  • Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
  • Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
