Known for its strong commitment to faith-based values and mission, The Navigators has established itself as a key player in global spiritual development and outreach. The organization fosters a culture centered on core values such as integrity, service, and community, making it a respected and inspiring place to work for those who share its calling. As a faith-driven employer, The Navigators emphasizes both personal and professional growth, creating opportunities for employees to engage in meaningful work that aligns with their spiritual and vocational aspirations. This position is open for ongoing recruitment to support future hiring needs, and while there may not be an immediate opening, applications will be reviewed and kept on file.
The role of Pastry Cook at The Navigators is a unique opportunity to combine culinary artistry with a meaningful mission. This position involves preparing high-quality bakery and pastry items including breakfast pastries, cakes, frostings, fondant decorations, cookies, amenities, and special-order items with a focus on excellence and creativity. The Pastry Cook will play a vital role in supporting the organization’s hospitality and event services by ensuring that all baked goods meet standardized recipes and uphold departmental quality standards. Working closely with supervisors and the Executive Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook is expected to manage daily production schedules, maintain cleanliness and functionality of all pastry tools and equipment, and adhere to health and safety standards set by The Navigators and local regulations. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, effective communication, and a proactive approach to managing supply needs to ensure uninterrupted service.
In addition to the culinary responsibilities, the Pastry Cook is expected to participate in The Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, cultural development and diversity trainings, and other organizational processes. This may include engagement with annual reviews, reaffirmation of the organization’s code of conduct, and submitting time worked through the Workday Time Tracking system. This role requires not just a skilled culinary professional, but someone who embraces the spiritual mission of The Navigators, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. The compensation range for this position is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fair pay and supportive employment practices.
