Job Requirements

  • Hs diploma or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook is required
  • Valid food handling certificate is required
  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written
  • Culinary training or apprenticeship certification is preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Hs diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook
  • Valid food handling certificate
  • Experience in preparing a variety of pastries and bakery items
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and maintain quality standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food preparation
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the correct use, care, and maintenance of all pastry equipment and tools
  • Meet regularly with your supervisor to review daily assignments, anticipated guest volume, special requests, and operational updates
  • Complete opening and closing duties including inspection of cleanliness and functionality of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Review production schedules and par levels
  • Establish and prioritize daily prep items
  • Prepare all menu items in accordance with standardized recipes and quality standards
  • Communicate proactively with the Executive Pastry Chef regarding anticipated product shortages
  • Adhere to all proper storage procedures and maintain compliance with Health Department regulations and organizational standards
  • Practice effective waste reduction and assist in maintaining food cost controls
  • Participate in on-site learning and development events and cultural diversity trainings
  • Submit time worked weekly through Workday Time Tracking system
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
