Job Requirements

  • Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Provide a clean and well-manicured persona that reflects the restaurant’s image
  • Safely transport containers up to 30 pounds
  • Stand and/or walk for entire shift
  • Safely transport items on slick or uneven surfaces and stairs where applicable
  • Safely move throughout all restaurant areas
  • Work variable and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke, and extreme temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year pastry chef experience in a full-service restaurant or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and maintain consistency
  • Competence with kitchen tools and safety protocols
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with culinary team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Perform a daily walkthrough inventory to prioritize product utilization
  • Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager
  • Meet daily with executive chef to coordinate and ensure production standards
  • Assist in developing and maintaining pastry recipe books with ingredient, specification, and portion size guidelines
  • Assist in creating dessert menus and new item development
  • Produce pastries for restaurant service and special functions
  • Prepare ingredients and pastry items according to recipes
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • Coordinate proper food storage per standard operating procedures
  • Work dessert station on line when necessary
  • Use kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently
  • Operate independently if needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety
  • Communicate any problems to management promptly
