Job Requirements

  • Completion of pre-hire drug and background screening
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or in a similar culinary role
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds unassisted and heavier objects with assistance
  • Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Team oriented with an innate sense of urgency
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 2+ years previous experience in a culinary/pastry cook position
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and administrative skills
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to move objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Develop creative dessert menus for banquets and the restaurant
  • Creation and execution of custom menus/food items for holidays and special events
  • Contribute innovative ideas to drive revenue and relevance and maximize profits
  • Control inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies
  • Understanding and adhering to hotel’s financial budget and expenses
  • Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes/menu
  • Test food to ensure proper preparation and temperature
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
  • Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
  • Maintain food, supply, and equipment inventory weekly and orders as needed
  • Maintain daily temperature and waste logs
  • Receive, date, and examine food products and supplies to ensure quality and quantity
  • Meet order requests and standard specifications
  • Restock and cleans kitchen daily
  • Assist culinary team as needed with prepping or preparing on the line for the restaurant or banquet function
  • Greet each guest with a friendly smile
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found articles
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve service requests or problems
  • Ensure guest and associate safety by following security procedures including emergency protocols and protecting confidential information
  • Follow all company and safety procedures and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
  • Complete safety training and certifications
