Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a pastry cook or chef in a restaurant setting
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year pastry chef experience in a full-service restaurant or equivalent
  • Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Clean and well-manicured personal appearance that reflects the restaurant's image
  • Ability to safely transport containers weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Capacity to stand and/or walk for entire shifts
  • Ability to safely navigate slick, uneven surfaces and stairs
  • Capability to move about all restaurant areas
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in limited physical spaces with variable ventilation, smoke, and extreme temperatures

Job Duties

  • Perform a daily walk through inventory to prioritize product utilization
  • Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager
  • Meet daily with executive chef to coordinate and ensure production standards
  • Assist in development and maintenance of pastry recipe books with ingredients and portion sizes
  • Assist in development of dessert menus and items
  • Produce pastries for the restaurant and special functions
  • Prepare ingredients needed for pastry recipes
  • Prepare pastry items according to prescribed recipes
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • Coordinate proper food storage according to procedures
  • Work dessert station on line when necessary
  • Use equipment as prescribed in preparation of menu items
  • Safely and efficiently use knives and utensils necessary for preparation
  • Operate position functions independently if necessary
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety
  • Communicate problems to management immediately
