Job Requirements
- Must be passionate about baking and pastries
- Ability to follow traditional and modern recipes
- Knowledge in preparation and baking of various pastries including dough, cookies, muffins, doughnuts, sponges, custards, scones, meringues, mousse, icing
- Knowledge of mixing and finishing methods and basic celebration cake building
- Ability to operate commercial baking equipment
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to handle and store completed products
- Understanding of basic pastry kitchen terminology
- Ability to inspect food products for consistency and quality
- Adherence to sanitation, safety, and food regulations
- Good communication skills in English
- Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Clear communication both verbal and written
Job Qualifications
- Texas Food Handlers Certificate
- Minimum two years experience in pastry
- Flexible availability in scheduling
- Capacity to multitask
- Ability to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Prepare and produce cookie doughs and fresh pastry items to specification
- Follow traditional and modern pastry recipes accurately
- Utilize knowledge of mixing methods including creaming, whipping, and folding
- Operate commercial baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, conveyors, and proofing cabinets
- Measure baking ingredients precisely using scales or graduated containers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area with proper mise en place
- Assist with setting up banquet functions, outlet orders, and breakfast production
