Job Qualifications
- Graduate of a culinary arts program or apprenticeship is preferable
- 1-2 years' experience in a pastry kitchen
- ability to communicate in the English language
- knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and equipment use
- able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- able to perform multiple tasks
- good communication skills both verbal and written
- ability to follow recipes and presentation standards consistently
Job Duties
- Bake pastry items according to pre-established recipes
- follow plating and display standards
- follow all standardized recipes and maintain consistency
- operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen
- keep pastry area and tools at the station clean before and after service
- decorate and present desserts on the menu consistently
- maintain inventory of prepped items by labeling and storing ingredients properly
- ensure the pastry section adheres to health and safety regulations
- demonstrate leadership to manage the pastry section under high-stress environments
- manage time efficiently to deliver orders timely and reduce food waste
