Job Description

The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is a distinguished luxury hotel situated within the impressive 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development. This development is a vibrant hub that includes the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, and TCO Stadium, making it a prominent landmark in the region. The location boasts prime accessibility, being near downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America, and the airport, making it an ideal destination for both business and leisure travelers. The Viking Lakes area is poised for further growth, with plans to integrate corporate offices, retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, enhancing the overall guest experience and community engagement.

The hotel features 320 beautifully appointed rooms and over 35,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, tailored to accommodate a range of events from intimate board meetings to large galas. Highlight features include a grand 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center, and six two-story hospitality lounges designed to meet diverse event planning needs. Food and beverage services are varied and sophisticated, complemented by a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities, all aimed at providing guests with an exceptional level of comfort and luxury.

Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is currently seeking a dedicated Pastry Cook to join its culinary team. This role plays a vital part in delivering an exceptional culinary experience by producing and coordinating the delivery of all baked goods to various hotel departments. The Pastry Cook ensures that high-quality standards are consistently maintained across all sweet treats, pastries, cakes, breads, chocolates, and related items. This position is part-time and offers a starting wage of $21.00 per hour, with compensation potentially adjusted based on experience. Part-time associates at Omni enjoy benefits including dental, vision, and other healthcare coverage, alongside discounts at the hotel’s spa and restaurants, discounted rates at other Omni properties, corporate discounts, continuous education opportunities, and more.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and interested in working in a dynamic environment that values creativity, teamwork, and professionalism. The position requires someone who can perform under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and contribute to a positive culinary environment. If you take pride in crafting exquisite pastries and enjoy contributing to memorable guest experiences, this role offers an excellent platform to build and showcase your culinary skills within a well-respected hotel brand.
