The Pastry Cook position within Won't Stop Hospitality holds a crucial role in the seamless execution and production of a wide spectrum of baked goods, including pastries, desserts, and breads. Reporting directly to the Executive Pastry Chef, this role demands an individual who is skilled, meticulous, and passionate about pastry arts. The Pastry Cook will be entrusted with preparing high-quality items that adhere strictly to established recipes and production guidelines, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation. In this role, the Pastry Cook will collaborate closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to maintain efficient production schedules and workflows. Beyond preparing delectable pastries, the role involves active participation in inventory management, including monitoring ingredient supplies and maintaining proper storage practices. Attention to cleanliness and organization is paramount, as the Pastry Cook must uphold strict compliance with both the company and Indiana Department of Health standards related to food safety, sanitation, allergy protocols, and personal hygiene.

Furthermore, the Pastry Cook will contribute to the organization's sustainability initiatives by identifying and reporting financial and environmental wastes, ensuring that resource usage is optimized without compromising quality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role within a hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of standardized recipes and baking techniques
  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, allergy, and personal hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Job Duties

  • Execute the preparation and assigned production schedule of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to standardized recipes and instructions provided by the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Follow established techniques and guidelines to consistently achieve the desired taste, texture, and presentation of all pastry items
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to ensure smooth workflow, effective communication, and adherence to production schedules
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels, properly storing ingredients, and reporting any shortages or discrepancies to the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, following Won't Stop Hospitality Inc.'s and the Indiana Dept of Health's safety and sanitation standards, safe food handling and allergy standards, and personal hygiene standards
  • Comply with all Won't Stop Hospitality sustainability initiatives
  • Report any sources of financial and environmental waste to the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Contribute to quality control efforts by inspecting finished products for consistency, taste, and visual appeal before they are delivered to restaurants
  • Support the Executive Pastry Chef in any additional tasks or projects related to pastry production, as required
  • Uphold all Won't Stop Hospitality Inc. company policies and Martha's Book of Rules
  • Maintain Won't Stop's high standards of quality in all aspects of daily operations while protecting all company assets and property
