The Heritage at Brentwood is currently seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join their talented culinary team. This role offers a flexible schedule with no late nights and pays $24.00 per hour, making it an ideal position for those looking to balance work with other commitments while delivering high-quality pastry and dessert creations. Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, baked goods, and desserts from scratch, following standard recipes and accommodating special dietary orders as necessary.
The position requires not only culinary expertise but also organizational skills to manage pastry production cost-effectively while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Pastry Cook must maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary workstation at all times, adhering to personal hygiene and dress code standards. Proficiency in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment and tools is essential.
Ideal candidates will have at least three years of pastry cook experience in environments such as hotels, restaurants, country clubs, or similar establishments. Effective communication skills in English and the ability to follow instructions accurately are critical. Additionally, a working knowledge of measurements, conversions, nutrition, and diet requirements is necessary to fulfill the role effectively. Candidates must also provide photo samples of their dessert and pastry creations to demonstrate their expertise.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of three years of pastry cook experience
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to operate kitchen tools and equipment
- capability to work flexible hours without late nights
- must pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening
