Job Description

The Vineta Hotel is a prestigious luxury hotel located in the heart of Palm Beach, Florida. Steeped in history dating back nearly 100 years, the hotel has undergone a meticulous restoration to revive its original grandeur and charm. Situated just two blocks from the renowned Worth Avenue, The Vineta offers guests an immersive experience in one of America's most elegant and artistic destinations. Known for its exquisite Mediterranean Revival architecture, the hotel seamlessly blends timeless style with modern amenities to provide unparalleled comfort. As the first hotel in the United States to join the esteemed Oetker Hotels portfolio, The Vineta is committed to upholding the highest standards of luxury hospitality, world-class cuisine, and exceptional service.

The Vineta Hotel is currently inviting qualified professionals to join its team as a Pastry Cook. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity for culinary artisans specializing in pastries, desserts, and baked goods to contribute to the hotel's reputation for excellence. The Pastry Cook will prepare and present an array of delectable pastries such as cakes, tarts, macarons, croissants, breads, and plated desserts that meet luxury culinary standards. Precision and creativity are essential, as the role demands consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation, while also fostering visually stunning dessert displays through intricate plating and garnishing techniques.

In addition to the hands-on preparation of a diverse range of baked items, the Pastry Cook will ensure efficient service operations by maintaining readiness in ingredient availability and proper setup of equipment. The role includes overseeing the pastry station’s daily operations, including inventory management, equipment care, and compliance with health and safety protocols during high-volume service periods. Collaboration within the kitchen team and with the Pastry Chef is crucial to coordinate dessert production effectively, while also supporting broader culinary functions during special events or peak times.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of two years of professional pastry or baking experience, ideally from luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, or high-end bakeries. A culinary school degree with a focus on pastry arts or equivalent professional experience is required, with food safety certifications considered an asset. The Pastry Cook position requires flexibility with working hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include the ability to reach, bend, balance, and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift.

Joining The Vineta Hotel means becoming part of a prestigious hospitality environment that champions creativity, service excellence, and gracious hospitality. The hotel offers a competitive salary along with an employer-paid health benefits package, 401(k) matching, paid time off, holidays, and comprehensive training and development opportunities within the Oetker Hotels network. Additional perks include complimentary hotelier meals and dry cleaning services.

This is a remarkable career opportunity for passionate pastry professionals eager to contribute their skills in a beautifully restored historic hotel that embodies the luxury and culture of Palm Beach. The Vineta Hotel is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, encouraging minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities to apply. If you are ready to bring your pastry expertise to an iconic luxury hotel setting, The Vineta welcomes your application.
