The role of Pastry Cook at Bastion Hospitality LLC offers an exciting opportunity to join an exceptional team of service leaders in a dynamic restaurant and bakery environment. This position works directly with the Pastry Chef across production and service, exposing the candidate to a variety of advanced cooking techniques and the use of excellent, high-quality ingredients. The Pastry Cook will have responsibilities that include overseeing assigned areas of pastry production, executing recipes with precision, maintaining kitchen equipment, and ensuring punctuality and reliability. The role requires a strong working knowledge of fundamental pastry techniques such as scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing. The Pastry Cook will also assist in developing a dynamic pastry program, including seasonal specials that enhance the restaurant and bakery's offerings. Being an integral part of the bakery team, the candidate will ensure adherence to the quality standards as established by the Chef and guarantee that all necessary ingredients and items are stocked and prepared at the start of each shift. Effective communication regarding inventory needs and maintaining ingredient quality according to the established standards is essential.

This position demands a professional who is not only skilled and knowledgeable but passionate about pursuing a career in pastry arts. Apart from technical proficiency, the ideal candidate is organized, motivating, personable, and exhibits excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in professional cooking
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read speak and interpret documents in English
  • Flexible to work nights weekends and holidays
  • Must be organized and personable
  • Must maintain confidentiality of company and customer information

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years professional cooking experience in restaurant or similar establishment
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read speak and interpret documents in clear English
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
  • Organized motivating and personable with excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of reservation management systems preferred
  • Passion for pastry career as a profession

Job Duties
