Job Description

The Heritage at Brentwood is a premier senior living community dedicated to providing an exceptional quality of life through compassionate care and outstanding services. Known for its commitment to high-quality food, residents enjoy a true southern hospitality experience that blends warmth and professionalism. This senior living community boasts a variety of dining venues including Fireside Grille, a contemporary restaurant offering American classics and comfort dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Southern Oak, an upscale dining venue providing an elegant atmosphere and exquisite taste for dinner Monday through Friday; Steeplechase Lounge, a popular resident gathering spot featuring classic cocktails; Corner Marke, which offers fresh baked pastries, coffee, grocery items, and quick bites; as well as Poplar Hall and other spaces used for catered community events. Additionally, the Somerfield Health Center provides five-star rated skilled nursing and assisted living services, including excellent dietary care for the residents.

Working at The Heritage at Brentwood places employees in an extraordinary community where they have a front-row seat to the life stories of wise seniors while being part of a company committed to the future of senior living. This environment values diversity and welcomes people from all walks of life who are enthusiastic about delivering top-tier services to senior residents. The company emphasizes a better working environment than traditional hotels and restaurants, with a fair wage and respect for the employees.

The role offered is a full-time pastry cook position with a competitive wage of $24.00 per hour and a flexible schedule without late-night shifts. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the Food and Beverage department, preparing pastries, baked goods, and desserts for the community residents, daily specials, and special events under the guidance of the Pastry Chef. The position requires organizing pastry production to be cost-effective and compliant with health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, and adhering to personal hygiene and dress standards. This job also involves knowledge of kitchen tools and equipment operation and maintenance.

Ideal candidates will possess at least three years of professional pastry and baking experience in settings such as hotels, restaurants, or country clubs. They must be proficient in following recipes, understanding dietary specifics, and comfortable with both independent and collaborative work styles. Candidates should be able to provide photo samples of their dessert and pastry creations as part of the application process.

This role not only offers a chance to contribute to a highly respected senior living community but also includes a comprehensive benefits package such as medical, dental, vision insurance, employer-paid life insurance, a referral bonus program, and advanced pay options. Moreover, employees can take advantage of paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) retirement plan. The Heritage at Brentwood is an equal opportunity employer that requires pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, excluding marijuana from testing.

Joining The Heritage at Brentwood means becoming part of a team that values hospitality, professionalism, and the extraordinary lives of its residents. This position aligns with individuals who seek more than just a job—they want to be part of a meaningful community and career path in senior living hospitality.
